He's been the owner for 18 years, but the story began long ago.

"When you have a dream, you have to go after it," Reyes said.

He recalls the years where he was working as a bus boy for a diner in Mahwah from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and went on to work his other job from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Now as an owner of the types of places he once worked at, he values everyone who comes in.

"I know 90 percent of my customers by name," Reyes said.

"I like when [people] come and stay for a while, I think [they] feel at home."

Fisher's Cafe is set up to feel homey. The casual atmosphere and free wi-fi invites customers to sit down and settle in.

Fisher's Cafe is located at 245 Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights.
