The Greenwood Lake Turnpike business will hold its first classes Friday and Saturday to give guests an experience of painting with a drink in hand.

Director Dina Pallozzi said she and owner Bobby Lynn are excited to offer the trendy activity.

"It's very popular," Pallozzi said of social painting classes. "One thing is there's really nowhere in that area that has it."

Cork and Canvas will offer three-hour classes with step-by-step instructions to complete a painting. They will provide the canvas, paint, smocks and brushes, guests need only bring their drinks, Pallozzi said.

"We try to factor in fun, jokes and excitement," she said. "There's like that 'wow' factor of being able to paint what the artist paints."

The staff want to include classes for kids and events like painting with the Easter Bunny, Pallozzi said. They hope to host classes on Fridays and Saturdays, plus a weekday, going forward, she said.

It will be a new experience for all involved, the art director said.

"It's a way to do something challenging and rewarding, as opposed to going out to a bar," Pallozzi said, "It's just a different concept for people to go out on a date night or go out with their friends.
