RINGWOOD, N.J. -- July is a great time to spread your wings and try something a little different -- like a butterfly walk, say the folks at Skylands in Ringwood.
The flying jewels will be on full midsummer display at the state botanical garden on Sunday, July 10.
The free guided walk starts at 1 p.m. and will be led by a member of the Bergen County Audubon Society.
Participants are advised to dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.
Binoculars will also come in handy.
The group will gather at the Carriage House Visitor Center.
For GPS purposes, the garden is at 2 Morris Road in Ringwood State Park.
Admission to the garden is free, but there is a parking fee of $5 for state residents and $7 for out-of-staters on the weekends and holidays.
The garden is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day. Parking is free on weekdays, and in the fall, winter and spring.
