The shelter's 20th annual fundraising event held at Wawayanda State Park is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 18.
There will be prizes awarded for each of the following categories,
- Best Dressed (dog and owner)
- Biggest Dog
- Smallest Dog
- Pucker-Up (best kisser)
The will also be an Alumni Parade of dogs adopted from the West Milford Animal Shelter. Free registration for registered walkers.
All walkers receive a free goodie bag and bandana for their dogs.
The contests begin at 1 p.m.
Prizes will be awarded to the people who generate the seven highest total donations for the Walk-A-Thon. Grand prize is a $400 gift certificate for JRC Jewelers, West Milford.
Rain date is Sunday, Sept. 25.

The shelter is 100 percent volunteer operated and recognized by the ASPCA as a "must-see animal shelter" for the work its volunteers do and the quality of life enjoyed by the animals in its care.
