Ringwood Manor Offers Historic Tours Geared For Children

RINGWOOD, N.J. -- Ringwood Manor is offering weekly historic tours for children every weekend until Oct. 30. The next "A Child's Life at Ringwood Manor" tour will be held Saturday.

This fun and energetic 45-minute tour of Ringwood Manor focuses on the children of the Hewitt family, the activities, games and pranks they played at the manor and what a child’s life would be like during the late 19th century.

Scavenger hunts are provided on the tour and afterwards, kids are encouraged to try the manor's reproduction 19th-century toys. It's a great tour to introduce younger visitors to the history of the site.

Admission is $3 for adults and $1 for children ages 6-12; it's free for children ages 5 and younger.

All tours begin at 1 p.m. Tours are limited to 20 people. It's suggested visitors arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins to ensure they can get tickets. Late visitors will not be permitted to join tours already in progress.
