WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- The Friends of Wallisch Homestead will host an exhibition game of old-time baseball -- presented by the Hoboken Nine Vintage Base Ball Club -- Saturday, Sept. 24.

The Hoboken Nine play using 19th-century rules and equipment, against other vintage teams.

This team is sponsored by the Hoboken Historical Museum, "to promote the history of the game and show how it was played during its formative years," organizers note. "The team calls home in the same city where the game itself made a very special beginning. Come out and see how baseball is supposed to be played."

The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. The Wallisch Homestead is at 65 Lincoln Ave., West Milford.

The Friends of Wallisch are working on other entertainment details, to occur between innings, so check back on its website.
