Where once folks cringed at the thought of raw fish, now they crave it with Passaic County diners putting spicy salmon rolls and yellowtail scallion high on their list of “must haves.”

We asked – and you answered – giving us three of your favorite sushi restaurants. Grab your chopsticks and read below; each eatery is being profiled this week with the winner announced at the end of the month.

Ooka Sushi Hibachi Lounge, 166 Main St., Clifton, (862) 295-1473

What Makes It Good: Innovative and fresh dishes made with mango and dubbed "Spicy Girl" and "Green Lady." HIbachi. "Rock and Roll" sushi. Pork gyoza. Spicy yellowtail rolls. Shrimp tempura.

Diners Like: The hibachi chefs that make them laugh. Folks on Yelp also mention the beautiful, upscale decor and the way dishes with names like "Treasure Island" are beautifully presented. The great prices and "beyond stellar" service also get high marks.

Worth Special Mention: Sake (rice wine) in squirt bottles. Full bar with the requisite selection of Tiki cocktails. Happy hour daily, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
