Clifton's Rutt's Hut Serves Up Crispy Fries, Vies For DVlicious Contest Win

CLIFTON, N.J. -- No burger or sandwich is complete without an order of fries. Whether you like them shoestring skinny, crispy and crinkled or golden brown and fried to perfection, they remain one of America's favorite sides.

The fluffy, yet crispy, gravy-soaked fries at Rutt's Hut in Clifton go well with their famous "rippers," hot dogs deep fried until their casings split and crack.

What Makes Them So Addictive: Rutt’s Hut opened as a roadside stand in 1928 and has been serving “rippers” (hot dogs deep fried until their casings split and crack), a culinary tradition in northern New Jersey, with homemade mustard ever since.
