Bottagra, 80 Wagaraw Road, Hawthorne, (973) 423-4433

Why Go: This isn’t your mother’s brunch. Yes, you can find scrambled eggs, zeppolis and sugar-glazed pineapple ham, but you'll also find a party-harty, festive atmosphere complete with champagne showers, glow sticks, and even bejeweled and feather-headdress-wearing dancers.

Worth Waking Up For: The brunch is actually a themed, once-a-month, adults-only boozy bash that calls on participants to “dress to impress.” Just having wrapped up its sixth season, Bottagra has built on its legendary status to expand its festivities to South Beach in Miami, Las Vegas and Atlantic City.

When: From September to May. Once a month, from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Those primarily interested in food come early to dine, while the wilder crowd stays on to drink and dance.

Prix Fixe? Depends on if you’re coming early for the rigatoni vodka and chicken francese, or the nightclub offerings with an emphasis on the alcohol.
