Happy Birthday West Milford's Tom Wopat Of Dukes of Hazzard TV Fame

WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- Happy birthday Thomas Steven "Tom" Wopat of West Milford.

The actor and singer was born in Lodi, Wisconsin on Sept. 9, 1951 and turns 64 on Friday.

Wopat is most famous for playing Luke Duke on the TV series Dukes of Hazzard (1979-1985), where he drove the famous orange 1969 Dodge Charger, General Lee. A movie based on the series was released in 2005.

He also played one of Cybill Shepherd's ex-husbands on the sitcom Cybill, and has appeared in Smallville, Murder She Wrote, All My Children and more.

He's released 18 albums, including the 2014 "Home for Christmas" with his former Dukes of Hazzard co-star John Schneider.

He was in the Quentin Tarantino film "Django Unchained," the television film "Lovestruck: The Musical" and has appeared in several Broadway plays, including "Catch Me If You Can" and "Glengarry Glen Ross."

He lives in West Milford.
