PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. -- It was a crazy week as fifth-graders made plans to harm Clifton High School, a dad took off with his daughter and poll workers are being dragged into court.

Here’s what else went on in Passaic County in The Week in Review.

  • Poll workers are being accused of misconduct in Wayne, prompting about 15 voters to file a petition Thursday morning in Superior Court in Paterson.
  • A group of Clifton fifth-graders concocted a plan on paper stating they planned to cause damage to the high school. The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office will determine how to deal with the five juveniles.
  • Have a safe New Year’s night out while raising money for a scholarship fund at XO Lounge in Wayne. Money raised benefits the Marcus Ruta Scholarship Fund in Hawthorne.
  • "Safe and sound!" is how New Jersey State Police put it Tuesday evening after troopers on the Garden State Parkway in Clifton stopped a Bronx man who they said abducted his 3-year-old daughter after stabbing her mother.
  • A Paterson firefighter is going beyond the call of duty and raising money for the March of Dimes . Firefighter Beth Fournier is selling stuffed elephants, "Eduardo," for $20 to benefit the charity.
