A dangerous chemical was found in a former landfill in the Ringwood mountains in the sludge where Ford dumped paint 50 years ago, reports northjersey.com.

The EPA is planning to place a barricade over the contaminated soil rather than excavate like residents and environmentalists prefer, reports northjersey.com.

The area is close to the Wanaque Reservoir, serving up to 3 million people, and residents fear there's already been groundwater contamination, reports northjersey.com.
