POMPTON LAKES, N.J. – Catherine Brolsma, a resident of Pompton Lakes, died Saturday, Jan.16. She was 79.
Brolsma was a teacher for over 40 years. After retirement, she was elected to the Pompton Lakes Board of Education, taking special pride in hiring a first rate history department, which is her professional legacy.
She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Brolsma Ferreira, Patty Brolsma Lulo, and Cindy Brolsma Gange; her sons-in-law Josue Ferreira, Tony Iulo, and Jim Gange; her grandchildren Nicole Craig, Katherine, Arthur, and Wally Gange; her sister Anne Bracchitta; her nephew Jim Bracchitta and his family; her niece Karen Mecadon and her family; and her cousin Dante Mott and his family.
She was predeceased by her husband.
