George John Burik, 66, Of Ringwood

RINGWOOD, N.J. -- George John Burik, a resident of Ringwood, died Monday, May 16. He was 66.

He was born in Passaic, and resided for many years in Bloomingdale, where he was active as a firefighter, school board member and zoning board member. During the past 17 years, he and his family lived in Ringwood. He retired from a long career as a logistics manager for Bayer Health Products.

He dedicated his retirement time to serving at Eva’s Village Kitchen, assisting patients at Chilton Memorial Hospital and gave tours of Ringwood Manor. Many afternoons, he would spend with his grandchildren doing homework and playing. He also enjoyed visiting with Oakland Seniors at the borough center.

He is survived by his wife Rose Marie Burik; his son Daniel M. Burik; daughter Catherine Burik; son-in-law Frank Lowell; along with Karlee Rose, Lizzy, Christian, Noah, Danielynn, Dillion; brother John Burik; sister Mariann Sloven; sister-in-law Linda Gutch; brother-in-law John Gutch; and many nieces and nephews.
