Vincent D. Bricca, 85, Longtime New Milford Resident

NEW MILFORD, N.J. -- Vincent D. Bricca, of New Milford, died on Sunday, Oct. 23. He was 85.

Born in Carthage, New York, Bricca lived in New Milford for 53 years, after growing up in Cliffside Park. He was a Korean War veteran and retired diesel mechanic from Case Power and Equipment.

He was an active member of the Disabled American Veterans Northern Valley Post No. 32, as well as twice past commander of VFW Post No. 4290 in New Milford. He belonged to the American Legion Post No. 170, Korean War Veteran Association No. 4099, and was a junior vice commander and service officer for Post No. 2342.

Over the years, Bricca volunteered with a variety of organizations, including New Milford Recreation and Little League and the Veterans Memorial Home in Paramus.

He is survived by his wife, Rose; daughter Cynthia Finnigan and her husband William; son Vincent Bricca Jr. and his wife Annette; grandchildren Brian, Melissa, Emily, Jack and Timmy; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at the Frech-McKnight Funeral Home, 161 Washington Ave., in Dumont. A mass will be offered at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, in Oradell. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, in Paramus.
