NORTH PASSAIC, N.J. -- A West Milford woman who filed a false domestic violence report was sentenced to five years probation, according to NorthJersey.com.
Jeanette Crowley, 53, and her co-conspirator, John DeWitt of Wanaque, also were ordered to pay $20,000 to the victim, Michael Stitt, for his bail bondsman costs, the story said. DeWitt also was given five years probation, said NorthJersey.com.
Crowley falsely accused Stitt of stalking and assaulting her, the story said
Stitt was arrested after returning from a Boy Scout event with his 11-year-old son, the story said. He was charged with stalking, aggravated assault and criminal weapons possession, NorthJersey.com said.
Investigators later obtained evidence the allegations made by the two were false and dismissed all charges against Stitt, NorthJersey.com reported.
