West Milford Firefighter Charged With Stealing Department Funds

WEST MILFORD, N.J. — A West Milford volunteer firefighter used department funds to buy things for himself while serving as treasurer, authorities charged.

Christopher A. Petrucci, 22, was arrested on theft charges and suspended from the department on Friday, Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and West Milford Police Chief Timothy Storbeck said.

Petrucci served as treasurer for Fire Company No. 2 from 2013 to November 2015, they said.

He was ordered held on $35,000 bail.
