PASSAIC COUNTY, N.J. – The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented several awards and proclamations at the last freeholder meeting in July.
Deputy Counsel and Adjuster Matthew Malfa was honored for nearly 20 years of service with a ceremonial gavel in honor of his new position as a Workers Compensation Court judge.
Ellen Delosh was honored as a devoted county advocate with a dedication of the board podium.
The board presented a proclamation honoring the 25th anniversary of the Americans With Disabilities Act to the county's Advisory Council on Disability.
Several community gardens were given checks connected to the City Green "Dig In" program, aimed at getting fresh organic food to local residents.
The freeholders also presented the Passaic County Business Appreciation Award to four businesses: Nexus Plastics, Tanis Hardware, Cake Specialty and Cake Shop, and Premio Foods.
