DVlicious Ask: Who Has Passaic County's Best Fries?
- The Front Porch Pub, Hawthorne
- Rutt's Hut, Clifton
- Thatcher McGhee's, Pompton Lakes
You've chosen three finalists as the DVlicious best in Passaic County; now it's time to vote. First, though, grab some ketchup and pour over the following. Just don't blame us if you get hungry!
Rutt's Hutt, 417 River Road, Clifton, (973) 779-8615
Fry Type: Thick cut.
What Makes Them So Addictive: Rutt’s Hut opened as a roadside stand in 1928 and has been serving “rippers” (hot dogs deep fried until their casings split and crack), a culinary tradition in northern New Jersey, with homemade mustard ever since. Its fries are fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside and served with gravy, American cheese, or mozzarella toppings.
A reminder: Voting ends Tuesday, May 31 at 5 p.m. You can vote multiple times, albeit once per day.
