Haskell's Pizza One Vies For Top Spot In DVlicious Family-Friendly Contest

HASKELL, N.J. -- We get it. You like to eat. And you like to eat out. But dining with kids, especially young ones -- can sometimes get sticky -- in more ways than one. Kudos to the places that offer up pleasing menus for both adults and kids as well as surroundings that don’t feel like you’re dining at Mickey D’s.

Pizza One, Haskell

Why It's Kid Worthy: Its make-your-own pizza parties on Monday nights, alllowing kids to do what kids love to do – get really, really messy. Mom and Dad can get a kick out of watching their budding chefs get creative with little tomato sauce, mozzarella, peppers and meatballs. To top things off, there are characters, clowns, face-painters and balloon artists available for the big bash.

A children’s menu has staples such as burgers, ravioli and grilled cheese. The grown-up side is just as tantalizing -- if not waist-expanding -- with treats like the "Belly Buster" pie (meatballs, sausage, pepperoni, peppers, onions, black olives and bacon) and the everything-but-the-kitchen sink "Fat Bastard" pie (cheese steak, fries, onion rings, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, mozzarella AND American cheese).

Take The Family: 1185 Ringwood Ave., Haskell, (973) 835-1600. www.njpizzaone.com. FYI: There is a second location in Wayne.
