"D-Love," based on a true story, is written by Dave Rogers, a West Milford native who long dreamed of being an actor.

The movie centers around a couple who are approached by a vagabond at Los Angeles International Airport and find their lives change in unexpected ways. Along with writing the film, Rogers plays a starring role.

The film is being shown Saturday at 6 p.m. at Thomas Morahan Park at Greenwood Lake. (Ticket details HERE.)

Meanwhile, Director/Producer William Michael Barbee, who grew up in Patterson, is seeing his movie, "Beyond The Silence" get its 15 minutes of fame with its HIFF showing at Thomas Morahan Park (outdoor screening) at 2 p.m.

The movie highlights the life of the lead character, Billy Ray Michaels who suffers from multiple personality disorder (compounded with schizophrenia) who finds himself on trial for murder, a crime which he does not remember committing. Billy Ray is entangled in a world of confusion, of which, unbeknownst to him, he created.

Part of the movie was filmed at the Sargeant Avenue home of Clifton resident Donna L. Walkers, a sponsor of the movie. The film also features Paterson-born Anthony Barbee.
