Willow Phelps, 9, is now raising money to help animals at the Mt. Pleasant Animal Shelter in East Hanover.

“All money raised will help with spay/neuter, vaccines, medical care, food and supplies,” according to a crowdrise page set up to help with her fundraising.

Willow is also preparing to give a presentation to other kids on how they can help foster kittens, puppies, adult and hospice animals, according to the page.

As of Wednesday morning, Willow had garnered over $750 in donations.

This is far from the first time the fourth-grader has taken action on behalf of animals.

Willow has swam to raise awareness toward a Miami orca on her birthday, collected thousands of dollars for people and animals alike and protested the NY Blood Center for Liberian chimpanzees.

In December, she was named the ASPCA’s 2016 Kid of the Year. This award is given to kids who make a substantial effort to help animals.
