A dental clinic remains closed and its dentist remains suspended after a scheduled hearing was delayed, according to Pennsylvania Department of State records shared with Daily Voice on Friday, June 5.
Kirti Chopra, D.D.S., the sole dentist at Smiles at Rittenhouse Square, remains under an emergency suspension order issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry after investigators alleged unsafe infection-control practices at the clinic, located at 255 S. 17th St., Suite 2507, in Philadelphia.

Sgt. Albert Haynes II, 24, of Austin, Pennsylvania, was discovered dead in a hotel room in Starke, Florida, on Friday, May 30, according to the U.S. Marine Corps.
Haynes was assigned to Lima Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion at Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island and was supporting a poolee function with Recruiting Station Jacksonville while on temporary additional duty when he died, military officials said.
