Officer Thomas Connors, who responded to the crash on the northbound highway near Oak Ridge Road at midnight June 11, reported fnding Charles Ercolano Jr. of Sussex apparently intoxicated.
Ercolano failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested on DWI and careless driving charges, Connors said in his report.
Ercolano was released to a family member pending a court hearing.
