West Milford Police: DWI Driver Topples Pole, Slams Into Tree On Route 23

WEST MILFORD, N.J. -- A driver was intoxicated when his car barreled over a curb, toppled a utility pole and toppled a tree on Route 23, West Milford police said.

John A. Pustelniak, 54, of Highland Lakes was flown by Atlantic AirOne medical chopper to St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center in Paterson after his 2005 crashed on the northbound highway Sunday near Reservoir Road.

Pustelniak was issued summons for DWI, failing to wear a seatbelt, failing to drive within a single lane and careless driving.
