A new IRS change could make penalty relief less of a paperwork chase for some taxpayers. The Internal Revenue Service announced on Wednesday, July 8, that it is introducing an Automatic Exemption from Penalty program for eligible taxpayers with a history of filing and paying on time. The new process will replace the long-standing First Time Abate administrative relief program, the IRS said.
