Nearly 50K Without Power After Storm Downs Trees, Lines Across PA
Thousands remain without electricity after severe thunderstorms and high winds tore through the region Saturday evening, utility officials said.
About 70,000 customers experienced outages since the start of the storm on Saturday, June 6, according to PPL Electric Utilities.
As of 8 a.m. Sunday, June 7, more than 8,000 PPL customers remained without service.
Over 40,000 Met-Ed customers are without power. The areas affected are mostly Fayette and Washington counties.
The storm brought down trees and power lines across multiple communities, continuing to impact service in hard-hit areas.

Anthony Head, the British actor known for "Buffy The Vampire Slayer," "Ted Lasso," and "Merlin," died after complications from pneumonia, according to multiple reports on Friday, June 5.
NBC News reported that Head’s family confirmed his death. BBC News also reported that his daughters, Emily Head and Daisy Head, said he died surrounded by family.
